Thank you for visiting the fundraising page for Stamford Youth Foundation's Odyssey of the Mind Program. 2016 has become our most successful year since the program was introduced to Stamford almost 10 years ago.
Earlier this month at the Connecticut State competition, 86 creative Stamford students competed with over 1100 students K-12 from across the state. 10 Stamford teams finished in the top five of their problems and divisions, and 5 teams earned an invitation to advance to the World Finals. Stamford is sending more teams than any other public or private school district in the state!
Over the past 10 years, Stamford has consistently sent 2-3 teams on to the next level of competition. While this year’s competitive achievement illustrates the success and growth of our program, the financial burden of sending five teams to the next level is much more than anticipated or budgeted.
Please consider making a donation to support our program! Every dollar brings us one step closer to achieving their dream.
Competing on a global level against over 800 teams from across the US and 25 other countries could be a life changing experience! Your donation will help us to make it happen.
Imagine being challenged to build a self-propelled vehicle out of trash that can carry two team members across a gym floor. Or design a new fishing method that can retrieve an item from 10 feet away. Or use nothing but balsa wood and glue to design a structure that must be more than eight inches tall, weigh less than 15 grams, but support over 250 pounds. These are the complex problems that a group of Stamford students overcame as part of the 35th Connecticut State Odyssey of the Mind Tournament.
Now their Odyssey continues to the 37th Annual World Finals at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa from May 25 - May 28, 2016!
Please visit our "About Us" section to find out more about our program, or "Donate to a Team" to learn more about all five of our amazing teams that will be competing AGAINST THE WORLD!
All contributions will be used to cover costs of transportation, registation and housing for our competiting students and their coach.
Thank you for your support!
